2025

Black Friday through January 1st is the busiest time of the year. During the 2024 Christmas season we took on a few more complications, and also a few helps.

Just before Christmas I was convinced to take on a rush job for an old friend. It took a few custom tools and some experimenting, but I came up with a smooth process to create these custom railroad spike cabinet knobs and handles. The house they were building needed to be completed due to the loan style, so there was a bit of a time crunch, but I am so happy to have a piece of my work living in my friend’s house. It made me want to develop new styles with a more classical design for the store!

Another was this set of tongs and spatula made for a client who had some of my other grilling tools. The tongs’ bottom jaw has a chisel edge to slide under food, and the top jaw has teeth to bite into the food. One of the hardest parts was getting the end of the spatula shank to transition into the blade in a pleasing way. Over all I was quite please, but I did even better in the first major update of the new year…

Spatulas were then released as a product for all! This keeps the cost down and the availability up to serve more customers. Several more custom tools were made to help add consistency, and a few more are needed. I plan to get a digital copy of the blade and have them cut by a 3rd party, as it doesn’t require much skill, just a lot of time. I need to add digital design to my skillset so I can do more of these quick jobs in house. Anyhow, that will also allow them to be cut out of stainless, without me stocking it, to be more convenient for you guys! Overall, I think they are a great addition to the ever-expanding grill tool line-up we offer now.

One thing that helped get all this done, particularly in Nov/Dec, I finally hired some help for the shop! Daniel has been a huge help, and has now learned nearly every part of a few products. It makes me very happy to be able to teach what I know to an upstanding young man in my community.

Goals this year include clearing my commission list, selling wholesale, making more content, and developing new products to take our offerings to the next level.

2025 is going to be a great year!
